With over four decades of experience in healthcare, Irving Stackpole is the President of Stackpole & Associates, Inc., a marketing, research, and training firm. Founded in 1991, Stackpole & Associates applies scientific marketing principles to develop practical and unimpeachable recommendations and creating innovative and practical solutions to the challenges facing organizations in rapidly changing markets, including health travel.

Irving’s healthcare career started at Massachusetts General Hospital where he was a pioneer in the field of respiratory therapy. After working as Vice President of American Medical International (now Tenet), among the largest hospital groups in the world, and Vice President for Kimberly Quality Care, the largest US home health care company, Irving started Amcare Medical Services, which became the largest medical equipment firm in New England. He established Stackpole & Associates in 1991.

Stackpole & Associates is a leader in health & medical travel since 2005, working with governments, governmental agencies, professional associations, healthcare providers and tourism organizations to define markets, conduct research, develop marketing programmes, and establish brand identity to attract international health travelers from around the world. Irving is widely published in peer-reviewed and professional publications, and has been quoted in The New York Times, The Financial Times, Forbes, CNN, and many others. He is the editor in 2007 of Marketing Medical Tourism, the first book on the subject, and co-hosts The Medical Travel Show, the first serial podcast on medical tourism, and co-author in 2021 of The Marketing Handbook of Health Tourism.
