Al Mheiri Mohamed

Director, Health Tourism Department, Dubai Health Authority

Mohamed Al Mheiri is the current Director of the Health Tourism Department of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Appointed to the position in 2019, Al Mheiri is responsible for enhancing the role of health tourism in Dubai and aligning relevant local initiatives with the goal of the Health Tourism Strategy to transform the emirate into a global destination for medical tourists. The Strategy also aims to position Dubai as a modern city with state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and high-quality services. Under his role, Al Mheiri builds strong partnerships with both the public and private sectors – leveraging his extensive experience in the local and global markets and sectors, as well as his exceptional leadership, negotiation, business planning and development, and hospitality management skills combined with his cumulative experience in foreign trade and development.

From 2007 to 2014, Al Mheiri served as the Head of Region at the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). During his stint at DTCM, he was actively involved in the planning, supervision, development and marketing of Dubai’s tourism sector projects and activities. He also worked at Dubai Exports as a Senior Manager from 2014 to 2019, contributing to the enhancement of Dubai’s and the UAE’s export capacities by providing constant guidance to investors, including overseas buyers and suppliers.

In 2009, Al Mheiri completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE.
